(KOKOMO) - A nine-month old baby and his father are recovering from gunshot wounds in Howard County.
31-year-old John Hambaugh III was getting ready to disassemble and clean his handgun. Authorities said a round that had unknowingly been left in the gun discharged and went through Hambaugh's thigh, before striking his son's head.
Police believe the child was next to Hambaugh at the time of the incident. The baby is in critical condition.
