9,000 Gallons Of Human Waste Spills During Accident

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A truck hauling 9,000 gallons of human waste landed on its side Monday afternoon, leaking the sewage onto a grassy area, police and fire officials said.

The incident happened around 1:20 p.m. on the west side of Indianapolis. Emergency crews were blocking the ramp for northbound I-465 at West 10th Street.

It wasn't clear if anyone was injured, but Wayne Township Fire Department officials said no one was stuck in the vehicle.

Four-thousand of the 9,000 gallons of waste spilled and was contained in an adjacent ditch. Diesel fuel also leaked from the truck.
