(EVANSVILLE) - A trial date has been set for an Evansville woman accused hiring her daughter’s boyfriend to kill her estranged husband.
47-year-old Brenda Dossett was arrested in May after officers say she offered to buy a $10,000 car for 19-year-old Mason Hughes in exchange for killing her estranged husband, Gilbert Dossett.
Authorities also say Brenda Dossett wanted a $42,000 payout from the victim's life insurance policy.
Her trial is expected to start February 9.
The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's office is seeking a sentence of life in prison without parole.
