(EVANSVILLE) - A Tri-state man convicted of child molesting has been sentenced to 28 years in prison.
A jury in Vanderburgh County deliberated for about an hour and half last month before finding 67-year-old Jerry Wayne Thomas guilty.
The prosecutor's office says, due to the nature of the charges, Thomas will be in jail for 85% of his sentence.
He was arrested in October of 2012. Court officials tell us Thomas plans to appeal.
