33-year-old Jesse Frye and 27-year-old Adam Frye, both of Connersville, were found Wednesday on private property just off the Brookville Reservoir Property in possession of ginseng.

Police determined they had been hunting and digging ginseng on that private property and in the State Reservoir Property without consent or proper permission to do so.

Wild Ginseng is a plant sought for its root, values differ but can range anywhere from $500 to $1000 per pound. The legal ginseng harvest season started September 1 and runs to December 31. To view ginseng harvest restrictions and regulations visit secure.in.gov.

Both were cited for theft of ginseng from State Property and harvesting ginseng without consent of a landowner. If convicted they could face 1 to 2.5 years imprisonment and a fine of $10000.
