Alcohol May Have Been Factor In Fatal Train Accident

(VINCENNES) - The Vincennes Police Department has released the name of the man that was killed when he was hit by a train.

Police say around 11:20 Friday night officers responded to 11th and Seminary in regards to a man who had been struck by a train.

When officers arrived they found the man, identified as 58-year-old Michael Smith, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to their preliminary investigation, police say alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
