(NEW ALBANY) - A onetime Indiana state trooper’s civil suits seeking $626,000 in insurance and estate proceeds stemming from his wife and two children’s killings are moving ahead in southern Indiana.
The News and Tribune and The Courier-Journal report that attorneys for the parents of David Camm's late wife are fighting his efforts, contending he shouldn't get all of the insurance and estate proceeds despite being cleared in his family's fatal shootings.
Camm lawyer David Mosley says the money should go to Camm and not toward legal fees for the attorney who's represented Frank and Janice Renn since their daughter and grandchildren were slain in September 2000.
Juries convicted Camm twice on murder charges in the killings. Both convictions were overturned on appeal and Camm was acquitted in the murders last fall.
