Police Looking For Evidence At Muncie Home

Last updated on Friday, August 15, 2014

(DELAWARE CO.) - Investigators were combing through possible evidence Thursday at a Muncie home.

Police removed possible evidence and towed a car from the same property Wednesday night.

Muncie Police Chief Steve Stewart released a statement Wednesday night stating that a search warrant was executed at 311 S. Council St., looking for any evidence that may help detectives find a missing person.

Muncie Police were also conducting interviews and said, "This is an ongoing investigation of a missing person case. At this time, we have not located any missing person."

Rumor quickly spread that the search at the house was connected to the missing person case of Brianna DiBattiste, who disappeared from Jay County two months ago.

We're hearing that, the family of Ashley Morris Mullis - who disappeared from Muncie nearly a year ago - also showed up, just in case it was actually their loved one who investigators were looking for.

The search was over for the night by 11 p.m. Police on-scene would not talk with news crews and the Muncie police chief was not available for comment.

However, despite rumors that multiple bodies had been found, Don Morris said police confirmed to him that no bodies had been found at the house Wednesday night.

Sources told Eyewitness News that police were looking into a second house as well, but would not specify the location or if it was connected to Brianna DiBattiste.
