(GIBSON CO.) - Jury selection is scheduled to start today in the murder trial of Austin T. Blaize in Gibson County.
The Francisco man is charged with the shooting death of Terry Monier of Fort Branch. The murder occurred January 16, 2013. Monier was Blaize's ex girlfriend's father.
Blaize is also charged with the attempted murder of the ex-girlfriend's boyfriend.
The trial comes as Blaize turned down a plea agreement for murder and attempted murder. Blaize is on trial now for murder, attempted murder, burglary resulting in bodily injury, intimidation with a deadly weapon, pointing a firearm, carrying a handgun and carrying a handgun without a license.
Prosecutors are seeking life in prison without parole.
