Delaney Raising Funds For Mayoral Challenge

Last updated on Monday, August 18, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - State Rep. Ed Delaney says he’s confident he’ll be able to raise enough money to mount a challenge against Republican Mayor Greg Ballard should he get the Democratic nod.

Delaney acknowledges that mounting a credible campaign will likely take upwards of $6 million. This comes as fellow democrat and rumored frontrunner Joe Hogsett continues to explore a possible run.

Delaney says he's prepared to spend lots of time on the phone calling donors, but hopes that addressing the issues will lure donors. He says he's still gearing up on the money front and expects to really hit full swing after the new year.

Right now, Delaney says he's got about $50,000.
