Baby Still Missing After Taken From Dad At Gunpoint

Last updated on Friday, August 29, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Law enforcement officials were searching Thursday near the area where a one-month-old boy was allegedly abducted Wednesday afternoon.

An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday night for one-month-old Delano Wilson who, according to his father, was abducted by a man and woman around noon Wednesday in the 1400 block of Henry Street.

The father, 23-year-old Willie Wilson, told police he was walking with his son when he was robbed at gunpoint by the suspects. He says he was struck by the handle of the gun, lost consciousness and when he came to, he saw Delano being taken away by the woman.

Investigators with IMPD and IFD searched near the area of Harding and Oliver Streets with the use of K-9 officers and underwater cameras. IMPD Sgt. Kendale Adams says nothing was found Thursday night but the search will continue Friday morning.

Sgt. Adams says their number one concern is finding Delano but the search got a late start due to "complexities" with Willie Wilson. He says it took time to establish a timeline of events regarding the alleged abduction due to Wilson being arrested on an unrelated drug charge.

The male suspect is described as white, 25-30 years-old, 5'6"-5'9" tall with a medium build and short brown hair. He was wearing a black do-rag, red t-shirt, blue jean shorts and red, black and blue tennis shoes. He was accompanied by a Latina female, 25-30 years-old with a thin build long brown hair. She was wearing a green shirt and matching green hoop earrings.

The suspects were last seen driving an older model (2000-2003) blue four-door Ford Taurus. Anyone with information on this case can call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
