(GREENWOOD) - Officials have identified the victims of a Friday plane crash near Greenwood.
46-year-old William Gilliland was the pilot and died after his plane crashed into a neighborhood only minutes after takeoff.
Gilliland and Michael Elliott,a passenger and flight instructor, were headed to Texas for the plane's annual inspection. Elliott was in critical condition yesterday at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital according to a report in the Johnson County Daily Journal.
Elliott was onboard because Gilliland was working to get his instrument certification.
