Last updated on Friday, July 18, 2014

(SCOTT CO.) - A Scott County Youth Pastor was arrested Tuesday morning after charges were filed alleging he had an inappropriate relationship with a youth group member.

37-year-old Brien Stout of Scottsburg turned himself into the Scott County Circuit Court to answer to the charges of two felony counts of child seduction and obstruction of justice.

Detectives from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg were contacted by the Scott County Division of Family and Children last month and requested to conduct an investigation of an allegation of child seduction involving a youth pastor from a Scott County Church. During their investigation detectives discovered that Stout had befriended a juvenile member of the youth group he was pastoring.

He allegedly engaged in inappropriate conduct with the juvenile during the month of June.

The investigation uncovered some electronic conversations between the juvenile and Stout had been tampered with.

After the initial investigation was completed it was turned over to the Scott County Prosecutor which resulted in Stout, appearing in court and being arrested.
