Road Rage Suspect Hospitalized After Bitten By Police Dog

Last updated on Thursday, July 17, 2014

(CLARK CO.) - A suspect remains hospitalized hours after suffering a K-9 bite while attempting to escape from police.

A man Clark County sheriff's deputies and Jeffersonville police considered armed and dangerous was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon.

"One of the officers got on the intercom, and started talking to him and I'd assume he'd come out, but criminals are criminals. They just don't make the right decisions, I guess," said neighbor Chase Scott.

Police caught up with the suspect in a wooded area behind Utica-Sellersburg Road.

Jeffersonville police were dispatched after Indiana State Police got a call about a suspect wanted in connection to a road rage incident on Interstate 65.

Police said he pointed a gun at another driver.

"We don't know if he was armed when he fled or if he left the gun in the vehicle when he fled from our officer," said Todd Hollis, with Jeffersonville police.

The suspect's name hasn't been released, but police said he's in his 20s and is from Kentucky.
