(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police say 38-year-old Chad Gilman killed his girlfriend Sunday evening by hitting her with a hammer.
Gilman, of Indianapolis, was taken into custody this morning.
A woman in her 20's was found dead around 9:25 p.m. Sunday in an apartment at a complex on Lynfield Road near 46th Street & High School Road.
Residents called 911 after hearing a man screaming and saying that his girlfriend was dead inside. When medics arrived, they pronounced her dead at the scene.
