(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police have arrested an Indianapolis man for the 2012 murder of his wife near downtown.
53-year-old Eugene Bingham Jr. is charged with one count of murder in the death of his wife, Sherese. She was found dead of a gunshot wound on the walking path near Limestone and New York Street along the White River Parkway on December 12, 2012.
The investigation at the scene of the murder was delayed at the time, as Sherese Bingham's dogs were standing by her body acting very protective as officers approached.
Eugene Bingham was arrested Monday evening and was taken to the Marion County Jail without incident.
