(GREENFIELD) - A Greenfield man was chased down and attacked by the husband of a woman who accused him of using his cell phone to take pictures of her in the bathroom, police say.
21-year-old James Likens told officers he was attacked after leaving the women's bathroom at Hancock Regional Hospital on June 12.
According to court documents, a woman was using the bathroom when she noticed a phone pointed at her from underneath the stall. At first, she thought it was a child playing around. When she got out to wash her hands, she saw a man run out the door.
The woman's husband chased after the man, who was found at a nearby trailer park. Police identified him as Likens, who said he'd been attacked but didn't report it because he was scared.
He denied taking pictures in the bathroom, saying he'd entered the women's restroom by mistake and accidentally dropped his phone on the floor.
The investigating officer checked Likens' phone but didn't find any questionable pictures on it. "There was ample time for (Likens) to delete any photos he wanted from his phone from the time he left the hospital till (the officer) located him," the investigating officer noted in the probable cause affidavit.
Likens was charged with voyeurism.
