(LEBANON) - An inmate is facing new charges after he tried to take a gun away from a corrections officer during an emergency room visit.

The Boone County Sheriff's office confirms that Bradford Boyers had been found in his cell, unconscious, and despite waking up in the ER, partially restrained, he reached for the corrections officer's gun.

Several nurses ran in to help, and pried the gun away from Bradford.

Doctors couldn't find anything wrong with Bradford who described himself as suicidal, but said he didn't want to hurt anyone.
