Indianapolis Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Prize For Second Time In 3 Months

Last updated on Thursday, July 31, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Robert Hamilton of Indianapolis won $1 million in a Hoosier Lottery scratch-off. The crazy part is he just won $1 million three months ago, playing the same “$120 Million Cash Spectacular Scratch-Off” game.

Hoosier Lottery officials said the odds of winning the top prize on the game are one in more than two million. There are still five unclaimed $1 million top prizes left in the scratch-off game.

Hamilton scored his first winning ticket at Casey's at 715 W. Main St. in Jasonville, Ind. in Green County. His most recent winning ticket was purchased at an Indianapolis Speedway located at 5960 S. East St.

"It's the icing on the cake," Hamilton said, as he claimed his second million.

So what will Hamilton spend his winnings on?

He said he will use the initial prize to pay off all his financial obligations, purchase a home for him and his wife, take a beach vacation, buy a truck for his father and invest in his business. He said with his second $1 million prize, he'll purchase a motorcycle.

"After he won the first time I told him he could buy a motorcyle if he hit it again," said Hamilton's wife, Donna.

The couple said their winnings will not change their lives too much or go to their heads.

"We're just every day, normal people," said Donna Hamilton.
