Last updated on Tuesday, July 15, 2014

(PLAINFIELD) -Duke Energy has scheduled job fairs in six communities to recruit entry-level workers for existing and expected open positions in its Indiana service area. The positions include distribution line workers, transmission line workers, transmission relay workers, and generation station workers.

"Many of our Indiana employees plan to retire in 2014 and 2015, which creates open positons that we need to fill," said Melody Birmingham-Byrd, Duke Energy senior vice president for Midwest delivery operations. "These are lucrative employment opportunities that can lead to long-term careers. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion helps us attract and retain the talented employees we need to thrive as a company."

During the job fairs and Black Expo Employment Opportunity Fair workshops, attendees will have the opportunity to meet Duke Energy managers and employees to ask specific questions about the qualification requirements and nature of these jobs.
