Democrat Calls Ballard Beatable In Next Election

Last updated on Wednesday, July 16, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - One of Marion County’s top democrats says the Ballard administration has a “very jumbled message” on crime and public safety.

Marion County Democratic Party Chairman Joel Miller says he believes most Indianapolis residents don't feel safer now than they did when Ballard was first elected mayor.

Miller says public safety will remain an issue during the next mayoral race come November 2015. Miller says democrats already have two potential nominees - Frank Short and Ed Delaney - who can beat Ballard.

Miller declined to speculate on the possibility that departing U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett is getting into the primary race for the Democratic nomination. However, he says he thinks Hogsett would make a good candidate for any office.
