Camp Atterbury Auctioning Surplus Mobile Homes

Last updated on Thursday, July 17, 2014

(EDINBURGH) - People looking to buy a mobile home can get one for as little as $25.

The Daily Journal reports Camp Atterbury will auction off more than 200 duplex mobile homes this summer.

The homes were used to house soldiers at the southern Indiana military training ground before overseas deployments. They're no longer needed since deployment training slowed last year.

The first group of 51 mobile homes are going up for online auction this week at www.govliquidation.com with starting bids of $25. Bidding ends at 5 p.m. Friday. A news release said bidders were encouraged to look at photos of the homes because some need more work than others. The homes are 60 feet long and 14 feet wide.

Winning bidders are responsible for towing the homes from Camp Atterbury.
