Argument Over Firewords Leads To Stabbing

(CARLISLE) - Police said a Sullivan County man was arrested on Fourth of July after stabbing another man over an argument about fireworks.

According to police, 33-year-old Andrew Elmore became upset that 20-year-old Tucker Hancock was lighting fireworks. The two men separated for a short time. Police said Elmore returned and stabbed Hancock twice in the chest in Carlisle on Friday.

Hancock was taken to Sullivan County Community Hospital. He was later airlifted to Methodist in Indianapolis. His injuries are unknown at this time.

Elmore was charged with one count of aggravated battery and one count of battery with a deadly weapon.
