(CORYDON) - A southern Indiana woman faces charges alleging that she plotted with her boyfriend to try to arrange her husband’s killing.

38-year-old Melissa Barger of New Albany was arrested May 23 and is being held in the Harrison County jail on a $50,000 full cash bond.

Barger has pleaded not guilty to felony conspiracy to commit murder. Her attorney, Justin Mills of Marengo, says Barger's side of the story will eventually be told.

Barger's 26-year-old boyfriend, Matthew Pavlisin of Louisville, Ky., is being held on felony burglary and other charges in an alleged break-in police say was intended to get a handgun to kill Barger's husband. That killing never occurred.

Prosecutor Otto Schalk tells The Courier-Journal more details of the alleged scheme he calls bizarre will eventually be released.
