(WHITING) - A Hammond teenager was swimming Monday in Lake Michigan when he disappeared under the water.
Conservation officers say 18-year-old Jose Alcazar started struggling to stay afloat after he and several friends jumped from a newly constructed fishing pier near Whiting.
His body was recovered last night.
