Teen Formally Charged With Attempted Murder

Last updated on Wednesday, June 11, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A teenager who police said shot and wounded an Arsenal Technical High School student last week made his initial court appearance Monday afternoon.

19-year-old William Alvies was formally charged with attempted murder and a preliminary plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.

Court documents revealed that Alvies repeatedly threatened the 17-year-old victim by text message.

In one of the messages, Alvies told his former girlfriend, "My mission is to kill you, I promise you that," documents said. Officials said he added detail in another message saying, "I have been having visions in my head, of buying a gun, then coming to your job, and blowing your head off."

Alvies' mother, Lou Ann Hardin, said her son has mental issues and the victim had been toying with his emotions.

Alvies has been a ward of the state since he was 16. He is held on $80,000 bond.
