Probe Into Clark Co. Drug Court Continues

Last updated on Monday, June 16, 2014

(JEFFERSONVILLE) - A special prosecutor appointed four months ago to determine whether employees at a southern Indiana drug court broke any laws says he is waiting for state police to finish their investigation.

Plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit against the Clark County Drug Court say they were arrested by court staff without arrest powers and incarcerated for more than 72 hours without hearings or other due process.

State police Sgt. Jerry Goodin told the News and Tribune there is no deadline on the investigation. He says when the investigation is complete it will be turned over to special prosecutor Chad Lewis.

In March the state Supreme Court lifted its suspension of the drug court.
