Las Vegas Shooting Suspect Had Indiana Connections

Last updated on Tuesday, June 10, 2014

(LAS VEGAS) - The husband-and-wife duo from Lafayette, Indiana who gunned down two Las Vegas police officers and another person Sunday before killing themselves, claimed they were “freedom fighters” hoping to spark an anti-government “revolution.”

Police say Jerad and Amanda Miller portrayed themselves as gun-loving heroes battling the "oppression" and "tyranny" they insisted the federal government had imposed upon the nation.

Records show Jerad Miller had a lengthy criminal background in Tippecanoe County. He was arrested on various charges including battery by means of strangulation, criminal recklessness, hazing and possession of marijuana.
