Teen Pleads Guilty To Conspiracy To Commit Murder

Last updated on Friday, May 16, 2014

(ANGOLA) - A teenager from Jimmerson Lake has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, according to KPC Media.

19-year-old Tyler Lee Biggs faced charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, a Class A felony that carries up to 50 years in prison. If a judge accepts the guilty plea, the murder charge will be dropped.

Investigators said Biggs supplied the gun that Mark Hines used to kill Ruben Sanchez on July 7, 2013.

Judge Allen Wheat will either accept the guilty plea or reject it at a sentencing hearing set for June 3. If he accepts it, he must sentence Biggs to a term of no more than 25 years. That could include suspended time and a period of probation. If Judge Wheat rejects the plea bargain, Biggs' not-guilty status will be restored and a jury trial will be rescheduled.

Mark Hines, 28, admitted to murder last year and was sentenced in November to 45 years in prison. The shooting reportedly happened during a weekend of partying that involved Hines, Biggs, and Lucas Baxla.
