Retailers Relying On Warmer Weather

(UNDATED) - Following the frigid, stormy winter that kept shoppers at home, Indiana retailers are hoping this summer will ring up big sales.

Purdue University Retail Expert Richard Feinberg says falling unemployment figures and a one-percent increase in wages mean consumers have more money to spend.

Feinberg says retailers are banking on the recent rise in consumer confidence along with good weather this summer to bring out shoppers.

Still, Feinberg says weather and consumer confidence remain variables.
