(PRINCETON) - The Gibson County Sheriff says 18-year old Richard Deffendall has been located safe and sound in Florida and is on his way home.

18-year-old Richard Deffendall was last heard from shortly before 9 a.m Tuesday.

Authorities say Deffendall, a senior at Princeton Community High School, failed to show up for classes. They also say he didn't show up for work Tuesday afternoon.

Richard's mother, Joyce, says police were able to track down his truck near Frankfort, Kentucky. She says authorities are currently there investigating.

Deputies are trying to 'ping' Richard's cellphone. Joyce says they got a ping on his phone just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, south of Atlanta.

She says she believes someone else might have his phone. She also believes her son is in danger.

Deffendall is about six feet tall, 114 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.

If you see him, or the vehicle, contact the Gibson County Sheriff's Office immediately at (812) 385-3496 and pick option 1 for dispatch.
