Nurse Accused Of Stealing Patients' Pain Med For Own Use

(LOUISVILLE, KY.) - A licensed practical nurse at a Louisville rehabilitation center is accused of withholding pain medication from patients and keeping it for herself and her boyfriend.

According to an arrest report, 26-year-old Brandy Hatter admitted taking narcotics from Oaklawn Health and Rehabilitation Center on Shelby Station Drive while employed there as an LPN. Hatter told police she had been stealing the medication for months by failing to administer it to patients.

Police said a detective found three Norco tablets in Hatter's possession.

Hatter is charged with theft of a controlled substance and knowing abuse and neglect of adult by recklessness.
