Day Care Owners Found Guilty Of Involuntary Manslaughter

Last updated on Thursday, May 15, 2014

(UNDATED) - The owners of a Hamilton County day care were found guilty Wednesday of involuntary manslaughter after a toddler died in their care.

Saundra and Daniel Wahl operated Home Away From Home day care where 20-month-old Anthony DiRienzo was found wedged between the wall and the vertical bar of a swinging metal baby gate.

Prosecutors said it was not merely an accident, but rather the Wahls showed reckless supervision of the children and had too many children present in the home.

Sentencing is set for June 12th.
