(DARLINGTON) - Indiana Conservation Officers arrested a Darlington, Indiana man after he shot a deer from his tractor late Saturday evening
Shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday, Indiana Conservation Officers responded to a report of gunshots in a rural area southeast of Darlington. Officers located a wounded deer that had been shot in the hind quarters with what appeared to be a high powered rifle.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, Indiana Conservation Officers made contact with Daniel Crowe, 43, Darlington, who was planting a bean field in the area of the report. Crowe admitted to shooting the deer. An SKS rifle was recovered from the cab of the tractor.
Several charges pertaining to the illegal taking of white-tailed deer will be filed with the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office.
Crowe is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
