Coach, Teacher Resigns After Allegations Of Misconduct

Last updated on Thursday, May 1, 2014

(WARRICK CO.) - The Evansville Courier and Press reports that Monday, Castle High School’s varsity girls basketball coach, 29-year-old Beau Hobson, resigned as an English teacher and head girls basketball coach at the Warrick County School.

Warrick County School Superintendent Brad Schneider told the Courier and Press that there were allegations of unprofessional and inappropriate conduct brought against Hobson by some students.

Schneider did say the conduct in question was not criminal or unlawful, and he was not aware of any criminal investigation at this time.

Schneider told the paper that school administrators were planning to discuss the allegations with Hobson on Monday, but he resigned before they could talk to him.

Last week, Hobson was announced as the next boys head coach at Gibson Southern High School, where he will also teach English.
