Teen Curfew Vote Postponed

Last updated on Wednesday, April 30, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A vote to extend Indianapolis’ curfew for teens has been postponed.

The proposal makes it unlawful for children ages 15 through 17 to be out between 11 pm and 5 am on any day of the week.

Republican Councilor Jeff Miller, the proposal's sponsor, says there was concern from some members of the public that it was a race issue. He says it's absolutely not an issue of race, but rather an issue of accountability of parents and children not being out when they shouldn't be out.
