Student Arrested After Bomb Threat At Center Grove High School

Last updated on Thursday, April 17, 2014

(JOHNSON CO.) - The student police say was responsible for writing a bomb threat at Center Grove High School Tuesday has been identified and arrested.

The threat, which was written on a bathroom wall, prompted a lockdown at Center Grove High School Tuesday afternoon.

A student told school administrators about the message, who then informed the Center Grove Police Department and Johnson County Sheriff's Department.

The school was placed on a modified lockdown for a short time to allow investigators to look into the threat.

Officers searched the building, but did not find anything.

"At no time did administrators or investigators believe there was an immediate danger to our staff or students. Their safety is always our priority. We appreciate students taking action and reporting concerns as they become aware of them," said Doug Bird, Center Grove High School principal.
