Police Investigating Inmate's Death

Last updated on Tuesday, April 22, 2014

(MARION) - Indiana State Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 27-year old jail inmate from Marion.

Correctional officers found 27-year old Brandon Miller hanging from a wall handle in his third floor jail cell. He was unconscious and not breathing.

Police say he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead a short time later.

The preliminary indication is Miller committed suicide by hanging himself.

Miller was incarcerated on a Gas City arrest warrant for failure to appear for driving while suspended prior (10 years). Miller had been incarcerated in the Grant County Jail since an early morning arrest on April 18, 2014.
