Police: Dozens Of Dogs, Including Several Dead Ones, Found At Huntingburg Home

(DUBOIS CO.) - A Huntingburg woman is facing charges after dozens of dogs are found on her property including several dead ones.

According to the Dubois County Free Press, authorities got a tip Friday morning about alleged animal neglect at 609 N. Washington Street in Huntingburg.

Authorities obtained a search warrant to search the property, owned by 66-year-old Mary K. Burch, and say they found 37 dogs, nine of them dead.

According to the Dubois County Free Press, the dogs found alive were taken by Dubois County Animal Control and the Dubois County Humane Society. The Free Press reports that several of those dogs required treatment.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Burch has been charged with animal neglect and authorities say other charges are pending.
