Last updated on Friday, April 18, 2014

(HAMMOND) - Lake Station Mayor Keith Soderquist and his wife have pleaded not guilty to federal corruption charges.

The pleas were entered during a federal court hearing Thursday.

An indictment accuses the couple of illegally using money from the Lake Station Food Pantry and the mayor's campaign fund to pay for numerous gambling trips.

The mayor's stepdaughter, Miranda Brakley, also pleaded not guilty to stealing money from the city.
