(DETROIT) - GM officials say that the automaker has filed roughly 200,000 pages of documents in response to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration’s Special Order regarding the faulty ignition switch recall.
The the automaker will provide answers to more than 65 percent of the questions in the order Friday, WXYZ in Detroit reports.
"GM is cooperating fully with NHTSA and is keeping the agency apprised at every step of its progress as it works to respond to the remaining questions within the Special Order.," said GM officials.
Earlier this week, GM's CEO Mary Barra testified at congressional hearings on Capitol Hill and spoke with victims' families tied to the ignition switch recall.
Also earlier this week, another 1.3 million cars were added to the recall list for power-steering issues.
At a hearing Wednesday, a U.S. senator accused a local GM engineer of perjury in the case.
