Last updated on Thursday, April 17, 2014

(HENRY CO.) - Authorities have identified a body discovered over the weekend in southwest Henry County. The case is now being considered a homicide investigation.

Officers were called to the area of Montgomery Creek, just off Grant City Road, around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The body was found by a passerby who was walking along the road, officials said.

Indiana State Police (ISP) said Wednesday that an autopsy positively identified the man as Zackery D. Soots, 23, from Indianapolis.

ISP also said the autopsy pushed investigators to treat the death as a homicide, but there were no details released on Soots' exact manner of death.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Henry County Sheriff's Department at 765-529-4890, or the Indiana State Police Post at 765-778-2121. Tips can be made and kept anonymous.
