Last updated on Monday, April 14, 2014

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - A 12-year-old central Indiana girl who was struck by a van while riding her bike with her father has died.

The Herald Bulletin reports Suncerria Uditsky of Anderson died of her injuries early Saturday at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson says she was struck by the van about 8:40 p.m. Friday.

Richardson says the driver says he looked at a sign on the roadside and when he looked back he was almost on top of the riders. He says he swerved to the left and missed the father but hit the back of the girl's bike. Richardson says the girl hit the front of the van before falling to the ground.

No charges have been filed. Richardson says the investigation is continuing.
