Woman Attacks Officers While Claiming She Has Contagious Disease

Last updated on Tuesday, March 25, 2014

(DUBOIS CO.) - A Dubois County woman has been accused of attacking several police officers while claiming she has a highly contagious disease.

Huntingburg police were called to arrest 37-year-old Breann Campbell for domestic battery, but when police attempted to take Campbell into custody, authorities say Campbell kicked and scratched a couple of officers.

"Our officers were tested just as a precaution. They were also treated for the wounds that they received during this altercation. The City of Huntingburg has taken all the precautions we can to keep our officers as safe as we can, and to make sure nothing comes of this, if we can at all prevent it," said Tim Mullen with Huntingburg police
