(INDIANAPOLIS) - Two orangutans at the Indianapolis Zoo had their first venture outside of their holding area. They weren’t supposed to.
Rocky and Knobi got out of their first holding area at the Zoo's International Orangutan Center around 10:30am Tuesday but were spotted by keepers and sent back to the holding area before they reached any public space.
There were about 60 visitors at the zoo at the time. Most of them were in the dolphin exhibit and needed to stay there while zookeepers searched for the animals.
The search lasted for about 30 minutes. Zookeepers say they found Rocky after he had dismantled a web camera in the building.
Officials were able to lure him back into his primary enclosure. He is OK.
According to Rocky's profile on the Indianapolis Zoo website, he "loves attention and likes to find trouble."
