(NEW HARMONY) - A Posey County woman was arrested Friday night and faces charges of neglect that nearly killed her child.
Officials say 24-year-old Kayleigh Drake, of New Harmony, gave birth in 2013 to a daughter with a medical condition.
Officials say Drake refused to take her daughter to a doctor for nearly two months.
She finally took her to the hospital when she weighed five pounds and was having trouble breathing on her own.
Drake is being held in the Posey County Jail.
Her daughter is now with Child Protective Services.
