Missing Child Found Safe In Indiana

Last updated on Friday, March 14, 2014

(MILWAUKEE) - Milwaukee police say a child who vanished with his non-custodial mother has been found in Indiana.

Authorities say the 24-year-old mother failed to return her 1-year-old daughter to social service workers. Police asked the public for help Wednesday in locating the two and said the mother may intend to harm the child.

Meanwhile, a citizen in Munster, Ind., called police after noticing the child was not in a car seat. Officers stopped the vehicle, ran a check on the driver, which revealed the two were missing from Milwaukee. Police say the child was not harmed. The mother will be returned to Milwaukee to face possible charges.

Nearly two dozen missing child cases are open in Indiana. To see a list of missing children visit missingkids.com
