(INDIANAPOLIS) - A man on trial for killing his two-year-old son has pleaded guilty but mentally ill to the charge.

Micah Harrison of Alabama was staying with relatives in Noblesville in January 2013 when he stabbed his young son to death in front of his grandmother. He begged the judge to kill him.

Under the plea agreement, Harrison will be sentenced to 55 years in prison. Sentencing is set for March 26, 2014.

Harrison has remained at the Hamilton County Jail since his arrest.
