Father Blames Video Gam Addiction For Baby Abuse

Last updated on Friday, March 14, 2014

(MUNCIE) - A Muncie father blames his own video game addiction for his baby’s serious brain injury.

Police say 23-year-old Joshua Orick threw the two-month-old boy head-first into a playpen.

According to the Star Press, Orick admitted he accidentally dropped his son, who started crying during his drag racing game.

The baby's parents took him to the ER five days later, where doctors determined he had brain bleeding and his brain had been displaced in the skull.

The child is now out of the hospital, and in his grandmother's custody.
