(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indianapolis Department of Code Enforcement is reminding basketball fans to beware of unlicensed ticket brokers.

The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Midwest Regional will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium this weekend, and 40,000 fans will be flooding into the city for all the action. DCE, along with the NCAA and Indiana Sports Corp, say fans should ask to see licensed ticket broker credentials, which feature the insignia of DCE, the NCAA, and other security measures - before buying tickets.

DCE inspectors will work undercover this weekend to enforce unlicensed ticket sale activity. Unlicensed ticket sale activity is defined as any person(s) selling tickets for more than 15 percent above face value within a one mile radius of the event. Such activity can carry a fine of up to $2,500 and tickets may be confiscated by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

On Thursday, March 27, 2014, all team practices are open and free to the public - no ticket(s) required.
